Garbage Truck Driver Goes Out of His Way to Make an Autistic Boy's Day on 'Trash Day' (VIDEO)
"Trash Day" is a special day for 5-year-old Daniel Newberger, who has autism. His mom Robin says that he's been "obsessed" with the scheduled ritual of the garbage truck coming to his home and emptying the cans. Every Monday, he runs out to see it take place.
Daniel's love of Trash Day didn't go unnoticed, and one sanitation worker, Manuel, decided to make a recent pickup extra special. In this video, we see that Manuel breaks ritual and asks Daniel's mom Robin if he can give the boy a gift, a toy garbage truck.
Robin says her son's garbage truck had recently broken, so Manuel's timing was impeccable. Manuel will reportedly be recognized by his employer for his good deed as well.
