Girl Scouts Stop Shoplifter From Stealing $2,000 in Goods From Texas Supermarket (VIDEO)
The Girl Scout motto is "Be prepared," and one troop in Texas was ready to stop the theft of $2,000 in goods that was unfolding before their eyes.
A Girl Scout troop was selling their trademark cookies outside an H-E-B supermarket in Katy, Tex. when they noticed a man hauling a cart of unbagged goods out of the store. The loose items made them suspect something suspicious was going down.
When they saw him make a beeline to a vehicle, the girls and their mothers altered a store employee, who called police. The store estimated the nearly stolen haul to total about $2,000 worth of goods, including wine and high-end appliances.
In return for the scouts' good deed, store employees bought a fortune in cookies to help support their troop, with one staffer buying $100 worth of the popular treats.
