Gloria Gaither Receives Honorary Doctorate From Nyack College
Southern Gospel music fans' favorite Gloria Gaither has received an honorary doctorate in music from Nyack College in New York, on May 5, 2012.
Nyack College is a Christian Liberal Arts college offering programs for religious vocations and majors in various professions including music.
Nyack College President, Michael Scales comments, "At our Nyack College commencement, we intentionally honor leaders in various sectors of society who exemplify the kind of lifestyle our graduates can aim for as they move into the next phase of God's plan for their lives. Mrs. Gaither is one stellar example of the integration of faith and learning at the deepest levels."

This is Gaither's seventh Honorary Doctorate degree. Gloria Gaither is married more than 45 years to her husband Bill. The couple is one of the most influential in Southern Gospel industry. The couple has been the recipient of many Grammy Awards and Dove Awards.
