Google Nexus 7 Release Date Today, July 30: Tablet to Beat iPad Mini? Prices From $229 [PHOTO]

The Google Nexus 7 has finally arrived Tuesday, July 30. Here is what you can expect from the highly-rated tablet.

Prices starts at $229 for the 16GB model and $269 for the 32GB. The device is able to be purchased through Google Play and retailers such as Best Buy and Staples.

The original Nexus 7 was hugely popular and this new tablet is expected by many to compete with the iPad Mini in the smaller tablet market.

Slimmer and lighter, the device features a 7.62mm thick frame, a 7-inch LCD IPS display with 1920 x 1200 resolution at 323ppi. The screen is the big advancement here.

It also has a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, Adreno 320 graphics and 2GB RAM, a 5-megapixel rear camera, 1.2-megapixel front shooter, dual stereo speakers, Bluetooth 4.0, and 4G LTE connectivity.

The tablet has already been getting some rave reviews, and according to most the new Nexus 7 is worthy of its price tag.
