'Grey's Anatomy' Season 11 Cast News, Episode Spoilers: Is Derek Alive? Cast Shake-up Coming When Season Ends?

The last episode of the hit medical TV drama series "Grey's Anatomy" Season 11 left fans of the show wondering where Dr. Derek (Patrick Dempsey) is. His wife Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) was even worried about his whereabouts fearing that he might be involved in the tragic plane crash.

However, a promo trailer for this week's episode titled "How to Save A Life" reveals that the handsome doctor is not only alive. In fact, he was out there doing what he does best – saving lives.

As what the trailer shows, McDreamy wasn't able to make it to his meeting due to a violent car crash that happens right in front of him. A lot of people were hurt during the horrifying road accident. Out of habit, he leaps into the scene to try to save the lives of people who were hurt in the incident.

"I don't let people die," the Grey Sloan medical personnel speaks to one of the victims.

Since we're talking about Derek, a report from Us Magazine said that Dempsey's involvement on the long-running show might soon come to an end. Sources for the media said that the actor might be exiting the program after 10 years of playing the said character.

Perhaps one of the reasons that drives the show to end his involvement is due to his "diva behaviour," the site wrote.

"Patrick has been acting like a diva and has clashed with Shonda. She suspended him for a while, and the word on set is that he isn't coming back full time," an insider for Us Magazine said. "Given all the past problems with Katherine Heigl and Isaiah Washington, there is little tolerance on the show for troublesome talent."

For the meantime, "Grey's Anatomy" Season 11 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
