'Grey's Anatomy' Season 11 Spoilers: Meredith's Family Issues, Callie and Arizona to Break Up?

Show creator Shonda Rhimes declared that Season 11 of "Grey's Anatomy" will be "all about Meredith". It seems like the doctor will have a lot of things to deal with, including an inevitable confrontation with her newly discovered half-sister.

Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) already had to deal with meeting two half-sisters a few years ago. Her father Thatcher brought Molly to Seattle Grace, and Lexie also did her internship at the same hospital after her mother died. Meredith and Lexie grew close before Lexie died in a plane crash on season 8.

Now, Meredith is forced to deal with another half-sister, Maggie, whom she discovered is her late mother's secret love child with Richard Webber. Maggie was given up for adoption, but she made her appearance during the season 10 finale and is now working at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. E! Online reports that Meredith and Maggie will instantly hate each other at first sight, and the new season will explore their relationship.

Meanwhile, Rhimes hinted that Callie and Arizona have a "50/50 chance" of making their relationship work. They've been through car accidents, a plane crash, and infidelities, and now, they have decided to have a child through surrogacy. However, this could be just a temporary fix their relationship problems.

"I'll be honest with you and say there is literally a 50/50 chance that they'll be together or apart, and I have not figured that out yet," said Rhimes to Entertainment Weekly.

"That is the other big storyline of the season for us. We really spent a lot of time in the writers' room mapping it out and talking about it. There are two parallel relationships: Meredith and Derek's relationship, and Callie and Arizona's relationship. Meredith's journey and Callie's journey are two big journeys that we really want to look at this season as we're telling these stories," she added.

"Grey's Anatomy" Season 11 will premiere on Sept. 25 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
