Heavy D Dead: Rapper Leaves Fans With 'Inspirational' Tweet Before Passing

Popular 90s rapper Heavy D, who died Nov. 8 of respiratory failure at the age of 44, left fans, friends and family with an uplifting message just one day before his passing.

"BE INSPIRED!" was the rapper's last tweet on Nov 7. Some believe this may have been in response to the death of world heavyweight champion Joe Frazier on that day. Earlier, Heavy D had posted, "SMOKIN JOE FRAZIER..RIP...truly one of the best heavyweight champs that ever lived.. GODS SPEED, MR FRAZIER!"

Heavy D, born Dwight Arrington Myers, was pronounced dead on Tuesday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after collapsing outside of his Beverly Hills condo. He had just returned from Europe and was laying on the ground having difficulty breathing when a passerby called paramedics, who rushed the conscious rapper to the hospital where he later died. Heavy D was reportedly suffering from pneumonia at the time.
