'House of Cards' Season 3 Release Date, Plot Rumors: Could This Be the Last for the Netflix Series?

Fans of the hit political drama series "House of Cards" are certainly excited for the show's return as it brings its brand new third season next month. However, recent news indicated that this chapter could be last for the popular Netflix show. Here's what we heard:

In a report by GameNGuide.com, they said that since Kevin Spacey's Frank Underwood had already made it to the top of the U.S. government, "there's nowhere left to go but down."

Citing Den of Geek, the website stated that Underwood "may be going lower than rock bottom."

"Frank might end up in the underworld. Which is to say, instead of just losing power, he may end up dead," the site speculated.

But the theory wasn't just pulled out from thin air. They based their assumption from the British show to which it was modeled after. As revealed, Francis Urqharts (the British version of Underwood) was actually assassinated by none other than his very own wife.

On the other side of the coin, Enstarz.com reported that it would be a bad move for the streaming service to put an end on a show that is already "doing so well."

Citing an interview with HoC's showrunner Beau Willimon, the publication mentioned the crew's plan on changing of the plot from the BBC series. A fan asked the executive producer about the length of the U.S. series to which he simply replied, "I couldn't possibly comment."

The main cast actor was also served with the same question. Although he said that he had "no idea" about the future of the show, he did however revealed that he is "enjoying it very much."

"It seems that audiences are as well, so you know, I see no reason why it can't go on for a while," Spacey told Enstarz.

"House of Cards" will open its 3rd season this coming Feb. 27, 2015.
