How Can I Become Wise?

My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. 2 Corinthians 12:9

If you could have any one thing in the world that you wanted, what would it be? Money? Friends? God told a king named Solomon that He would give him anything he asked for. Solomon asked God for wisdom. King Solomon knew that wisdom came from God and was very valuable (1 Kings 3:5, 7-12).

Wisdom is knowing what is right in God's eyes and then doing it. Did you know that God promised to give you wisdom if you ask for it? "If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God . . . and it will be given to him" (James 1:5).

Maybe you don't feel very wise. Sometimes you might make mistakes even though you try very hard. The good news is that you don't have to become wise in your own strength. God says that His power will give you the strength you need. "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness" (2 Corinthians 12:9). If you really want God's help to be wise, ask Him to give you wisdom. Read His Word and obey it. Ask Him to help you make wise choices. God will keep His promise.
