Howard Stern Bulldog Bianca Dies, Mourned on Twitter

Howard Stern has announced the death of his beloved pet bulldog Bianca, signaling an outpouring of sympathy on Twitter this week.

"Tough day today my friends," the radio personality wrote on his Twitter account Tuesday. "Thanks to all for all the kind messages. Give your dog a hug for me tonight."

Stern's wife, Beth Ostrosky Stern, initially announced the news via Twitter.

"We lost our precious bianca today. my sweet little girl, may you rest in peace. i love you forever," she posted.

After the announcement, Stern went on to post several pictures of the late bulldog, and added that losing a pet is "the worst."

The actor also posted a photo on Twitter that reveals his tattoo which reads "Bianca."

The dog, whose full name was Bianca Romijn Stamos-O'Connell, was 10 years old at the time of death. Stern's wife explained their pet's unusual name to Us Weekly.

"When we got her, we were so close with (actors) Rebecca Romijn and John Stamos," said Ostrosky Stern. "When she married Jerry O'Connell, we hyphenated!"

The Stern family received many messages of condolences from fellow celebrities and fans in Twitter following the announcement, including from Sharon Osbourne.

"So sorry to hear about Bianca," wrote the wife of Ozzy Osbourne to Ostrosky Stern. "My heart is breaking for you. Love, your friend Sharon."

"I am broken," Ostrosky Stern replied.

Moreover, Stern's fans wished the family the best during the sad time.

"I know how tough it will be, hang in there- u r in our thoughts," M Johnson posted.

Scott added, "Sorry about your loss man."

"Sorry for your loss Howard," wrote Derek. "She was a beautiful dog. We lost our cat. We had him ever since my wife n I dated in college."

The Sterns also have cats Leon and Walter. While they do not share any children together, Stern shares three daughters with ex-wife Alison Berns.
