'I Am Second' Movement Announces New Speakers Board

I Am Second, a movement meant to inspire people to live for God and others, has announced that it is launching a new bureau that will provide the public with access to the website’s personalities and spokespersons.

The I am Second movement works to heighten God in people’s lives, and strives to inspire others of various backgrounds to live for Him. Showcasing personal stories of everyday struggle, the site offers readers a light of hope in times of darkness, loneliness, and pain.

“Find the hope, peace, and fulfillment they found,” is written on the website. “Be Second.”

Spokesperson for I am Second Kristin Cole said, "We just want people to realize the opportunity to join the movement."

Cole told The Christian Post that the movement works toward spreading the "message of being second to Christ" to areas around the globe through expeditions, which people can volunteer to participate in.

In addition to expeditions, people can participate in the movement through the numerous small groups and churches affiliated with I am Second that are listed on the website, which also includes a volunteer program for those interested, Cole said.

The I am Second Speakers Bureau will help to further spread the message of hope, and of “being second.” The bureau is provided by the parent organization to the movement, e3 Partners.

Sylvia Boyle, Speakers Bureau Talent Manager spoke about the news in the press release.

“Since I am Second launched in 2008, we have received countless requests from organizations, ministries, churches, and universities for I Am Second personalities to speak at an event or gathering and share their powerful personal story.”

Boyle, a former agent with Kim Dawson Talent Agency of Dallas, Texas, continued, “The Speakers Bureau allows us the ability to facilitate these requests and connect groups with those who are eager to spread the movement of second.”

Created in Dallas-Forth Worth, I am Second urges readers to volunteer, and has seen more than 5 million visitors in 217 different countries and regions.

Since the site’s launch in 2008, the movement has officially spread to Orlando, Fla., Evansville, Ind., and Kansas City, Mo. I am Second plans on continuing its growth, and has several other cities in mind for the future.

Members of the Speakers Bureau include actresses Bailee Madison and Janine Turner, former Korn band member Brian “Head” Welch, and “The Biggest Loser” winner Michelle Aguilar, among many other well-known names.

The Speakers Bureau adds much more to the I am Second movement, for the variety of speakers can cover many different topics for all ages and demographics, discussing countless struggles such as addiction, self-esteem, and faith, as well as many other issues.

Forty speakers are currently available at varying costs for speaking engagements through I Am Second. The movement is currently preparing for the debut of its book, I am Second, scheduled for release in January 2012.

The personal video accounts on the website include celebrities such as American League MVP and Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton, surfer Bethany Hamilton, musician Lecrae, and former contestant on “American Idol,” Jason Castro. Also, football stars Colt McCoy and Sam Bradford and actor Stephen Baldwin have contributed testimonies to the site.
