iPad Pro 2014 Release Date, Rumors: Device Slated to Launch in 2015?
Recent reports indicated that Apple is planning to manufacture larger 12-inch tablets as replacement for the smaller iPad minis.
Taiwan's Economic Daily News claims that the Cupertino-based tech giant won't be releasing 7.9-inch tablets (the iPad Minis) for next year or the following years.
"A preference towards larger screen sizes, the introduction of the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus, declining iPad sales, and 'fierce competition' in the tablet market are said to have led to Apple's alleged decision to discontinue the tablet," Mac Rumors indicated in their report.
In a similar vein, KnowYourMobile cited the well-known KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicting a "large Apple tablet for 2015 launch."
"We believe Apple plans to launch upgraded iPad Air early this year, and will accelerate development of 12.9" iPad," he was quoted as saying.
Several other tech analysts speculate that Apple could now be focusing their attention in the competition of "large screen tablet" market that is currently occupied by Microsoft's Surface Pro 3.
Japanese tech site Macotakara suggested in their report that instead of a 12.9-inch screen, Apple's purported iPad Pro could actually arrive with a 12.2-inch display with thickness similar to that of the newly-released iPhone 6 (6.9mm) or the iPhone 6 Plus (7.1mm).
Nonetheless, rumors surrounding the production of the alleged iPad Pro 2014 indicated that it has been halted due to the strong demand for the newest iPhones.
Additional information from Christian Today indicated that the device could come with a powerful A8X processor and that it will be released sometime in 2015.
Mac Rumors maintained that these talks are yet still to be confirmed and should be treated as mere speculations.
