iPhone 6c Release Date Specs Rumors: Cheaper iPhone To Carry Bigger Battery, May Launch In April

With Apple keeping mum about its plans for the iPhone 6c, rumors continue to circulate the Internet about when the device is going to be launched and what specs it will carry. The latest rumor, according to a report in Tech Times, says that the cheaper iPhone will be carrying a bigger battery than its predecessor, the iPhone 5c.

The bigger battery was reported by MacRumors, which said that the iPhone 6c will have 1,642 mAh battery, slightly bigger than the 1,570 mAh of the iPhone 5s.

The report cites a Chinese website as its source, which also said that Foxconn employees were the ones who revealed the device's battery. Foxconn is the Chinese manufacturer that Apple contracts for most of its products.

With its specs still a secret, rumors point to a 4-inch smartphone screen and an A9 processor under the hood. The faster processor is paired with 2 GB of RAM and an internal storage of 16 GB. Despite its lower price tag, it is said to be equipped with some of the features found in the iPhone 6 such as curved glass and the Touch ID feature.

In terms of design, the device is rumored to look much like the iPhone 5s and will be offered in three colors only – gold, silver and space grey. This is a jump from the usual colorful palette that the C series is known for. There is another rumor however that says that the playful colors will still remain with the iPhone 6c.

Another rumor about the device's release date says that an April unveiling will be likely, according to an analyst at KGI Securities. According to Tech Times, this particular analyst is known for his spot-on predictions about Apple products.

The phone is speculated to be priced at $400 or $500, which is cheaper than the $650 price for a standard iPhone. Some rumors say that this low a price means not having the 3D Touch technology as the iPhone 6s.
