iPhone Users Rank Most Inspiring Bible Verses

The developers of "Bible Promises," the popular application for the iPhone and iPod touch, have revealed the top five most inspiring Bible verses chosen by users.

At the top of that list is Isaiah 40:31: "But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

ReignDesign compiled the list of popular scriptures based on information gathered from a new version of Bible Promises that was recently released. The updated application allows users to "favorite" their most inspiring passages from Scripture.

The next most inspiring Bible verses identified by iPhone users are:

  • Deuteronomy 31:6: Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.
  • Psalms 103:2-3: Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits – who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases.
  • Galatians 6:9: Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
  • Philippians 4:6: Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

iPhone and iPod touch users can suggest new verses and modify the list, according to ReignDesign.

"Bible Promises" contains a collection of over 500 Bible verses organized by topic and can be downloaded from the iTunes App Store by users of iPhone, iTouch and Android phones.

The Bible verses are available in English and Spanish. The English version includes New International Version (NIV), English Standard Version (ESV) and King James Version (KJV).
