5 things to know about the shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego

3. Shooting claims the lives of 3 victims 

The police are investigating the attack that resulted in the killings of three people as a hate crime, The New York Times reported. Police discovered the bodies of the three victims just outside the Islamic Center when they arrived on the scene. 

One of the victims killed in the shooting was a security guard. A woman who lives across the street said that she witnessed a security guard fall after he was hit by at least two gunshots, according to the Times. The woman then saw the security guard stand back up and walk inside the building.
