'Jane the Virgin' Season 2 Spoilers: Is Professor Chavez the One?

The return of hit series "Jane the Virgin" is expected to answer many mysterious questions.

The fall finale of "Jane the Virgin" season 2 recently aired, featuring Mateo's first Christmas. The couple was seen taking their baby to see Santa at the mall. However, it seems as though Jane and Rafael were not in good terms, as they began yelling at each other in front of Santa.

It can be seen that the two are still struggling in their relationship as they co-parent their son. However, that was not the only problem Jane faced in the episode. It was revealed that Jane was also facing an obstacle regarding her scholarship when she realized that she would have to pay for her education herself.

Fans are hoping that Jane will be able to overcome her struggles when the season returns this January. Along with that, there are many questions that fans are waiting to be answered in the episodes come. One particular question is who Jane's new romantic affair will be.

The executive producers of the series hinted previously that Jane was going to meet a new love interest, who is not Rafael nor Michael. Now, fans are speculating that her new romance could be her professor. Professor Chavez was introduced in a previous episode as a merciless professor who did not sympathize with Jane's situation. However, their relationship has evolved to a more promising one, which is making fans believe that he could be her next love interest.

According to TV Guide, Jennie Urman, the executive producer of "Jane the Virgin," shared some juicy details about Jane's love life. She revealed that Jane will be experiencing a milestone in the upcoming episodes. She stated, "Jane will make a choice with one of the guys, eventually, and we will have a wedding at some point in the season."

"Jane the Virgin" season 2 is expected to return on Jan. 25.
