Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Wedding News: Jay-Z Set to Attend, But Won't Be Best Man

Kanye West reportedly asked Jay Z to be his best man ahead of his upcoming wedding to Kim Kardashian next month, however, the hip-hop mogul politely declined.

The "Yeezus" rapper, 36, will marry his best friend, 33, in a televised wedding in Paris on May 24 and while Jay Z is expected to attend with Beyonce, the Hollywood power couple do not want to be filmed for any reality TV. While West and Jay Z are said to be like "brothers," Jay Z reportedly does not want to be a part of the wedding party due to privacy concerns.

"Of course, Kanye asked Jay to be his best man at the wedding. But Jay politely declined the request," a source told LifeandStyle magazine.

"Jay just didn't want to be associated with the Kardashian reality show. Kanye told Jay he understands why he would decline, but he's still very hurt," the insider explained.

In October, West proposed to Kardashian on her 33rd birthday and they are currently finalizing wedding planning.

Insiders claim an E! camera crew will be present to capture every moment of the wedding, much like during Kardashian's 2011 wedding to NBA star Kris Humphries. The wedding will mark the reality star's third marriage and West's first.

"They have filmed some things already to be on the upcoming special and will film stuff afterwards as well. But the Kim and Kanye special will be a stand-alone show on E!" another source revealed.

"E! plans on airing Kim and Kanye's wedding as a two-part special," another source revealed. "The event is way too important to only broadcast on Keeping Up with the Kardashians."

Beyonce was reportedly reluctant to attend West and Kardashian's big day as insiders claim she considers the idea of filming the entire wedding for TV to be "tacky." The iconic singer and Jay Z have reportedly set strict privacy rules.

"Under no circumstances will she be a part of any filming on the wedding day if it's for Kim's reality show," a source close to the situation told RadarOnline.com.

"Jay and Beyoncé's wedding was shrouded in secrecy and extreme lengths were made to make sure their wedding was an intimate affair for friends and family, only," the source explained. "This will be the complete opposite. She thinks it's just tacky."

In 2008 the multiple Grammy award-winning star wed Jay Z in an intimate ceremony and up until today very limited details about the wedding have been made public.

"Beyoncé's motto has always been, less is more. But clearly when it comes to Kim, more means more," the insider said.

"She knows she'll have to go to the wedding, but really does not to want to," the source continued before adding that the only reason she will attend is because "[West] considers them family."
