Jay-Z Officially NBA, MLB Agent?

Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter is officially an NBA and MLB agent, according to reports on Friday.

The music mogul recently made headlines after rumors emerged that he planned to become a sports agent, but now Ron Berkowitz, a spokesman for Roc Nation Sports, has confirmed the news to Although sources told the website that Carter has yet to sell his share of the Brooklyn Nets, the rap mogul will reportedly be allowed to represent players as long as he agrees to do so in the near future.

Jay-Z is reportedly looking to sign star Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant as his first NBA client. However, Durant has yet to comment on the matter. Aside from being an NBA agent, MLB Players Association spokesman Greg Bouris recently revealed that the rap mogul is licensed to represent MLB players.

Jay-Z has officially signed New York Yankees player Robinson Cano, New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith and recent WNBA signee Skylar Diggins. The rapper-turned-businessman is in the position to start his new sports management company called Roc Nation Sports, according to Forbes reports.

Cano, New York Yankees second baseman, announced that he would sign on with Carter's company earlier this year.

"At this point in my career, I am ready to take a more active role in my endeavors on and off the field," Cano said in a statement obtained by ESPN. "I am confident that the pairing of Roc Nation Sports and CAA Sports will be essential in helping me accomplish my short- and long-term goals. I am making this important decision now so I can keep my focus on helping the Yankees succeed in 2013, while minimizing any distractions for me and my teammates."

Diggins, the 22-year-old third overall pick in the 2013 WNBA Draft from University of Notre Dame, was recently selected to become a part of the Tulsa Shock and announced her deal with Carter's new company on Twitter.

"It's the ROC in here!" Diggins tweeted after the news was posted on Carter's Life+Times website."ShockNation meets RocNation."
