Joy Behar Supports Nene Leakes Co-Hosting 'The View'?

NeNe Leakes, the reality television star-turned-actress, may be gearing up to add the title of television host to her repertoire as the newest co-host of "The View."

After longtime host of the daytime talk show Joy Behar made headlines for reportedly deciding to exit the show, some have been questioning if "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Leakes would take her position. Behar was questioned about the possibilities of Leakes taking over her spot on "The View" couch 16 years after the comedian fulfilled her duties on the show.

"Oh, NeNe! I love NeNe," Behar told Wetpaint.com recently. "Yeah, I think she'd be very good."

While Wetpaint reporters told Behar that nobody could replace her, the comedian continued to sing Leakes' praises.

"It'd be NeNe," Behar told Wetpaint.com recently. "She'd be great. She's fun!"

While Leakes has yet to confirm or deny that she would be interested in being a co-host on "The View," she did respond to a Twitter follower who questioned if she would ever take on hosting duties earlier this month.

"Coming soon," Leakes responded on Twitter.

Earlier this month, Behar opened up to Deadline.com about wanting to pursue her standup comedy career. She had been neglecting her first love for the hosting duties on the daytime talk show.

"It seemed like the right time," Behar told Deadline. "You reach a point when you say to yourself, 'Do I want to keep doing this?' There are other things on my plate I want to do- I've been writing a play, I've been neglecting my standup."

The 70-year-old comedian admitted that she would miss "The View" and co-host Barbara Walters, who helped bring her to the show.

"I have a lot of friends there, and I will miss everyone I've worked with because we have a family there," Behar said earlier this month in a Deadline.com report. "It is a smart talk show because somebody of her stature is leading the conversation; Barbara was one of the main reasons I took that job."
