Justin Bieber Never Believed in Santa Claus, Cites Mom's Christian Beliefs

In a new interview, Justin Bieber has revealed that he never believed in Santa Claus.

Bieber, who rose to fame in 2009 and has a massive following, told AOL Music that his mom “always told me there wasn’t a Santa.”

He explained that she wanted him to believe in God and didn’t want him to be confused by the story of Santa. “She thought if I grew up knowing about Santa, then finding out he wasn’t real, that it would be like lying to me,” he said.

Bieber has referenced his mom’s faith in multiple interviews, telling people that her Christian beliefs have played a significant role in his life.

In a statement on Twitter, Bieber said, “I have not joined the Illuminati or any other cult. I’m a Christian and I pray before every show and am thankful for every blessing.”

In February, Bieber released a film “Justin Bieber: Never Say Never,” which offered fans a glimpse into the star’s personal life. The movie featured Bieber praying before concerts and quoting the Bible; religious communities were given guides with the intention of showing it to youth groups and fostering discussion about faith.

Manager Scotter Braun told The Hollywood Reporter, “People will walk away (from the movie) knowing faith is very important to him. As a Christian, he’s someone to look up to.”

Bieber also told AOL about his own Christmas list. “To be honest, I really don’t have any Christmas wishes this year…I just wish to be happy and that everyone be healthy in my family," Bieber said.
