The Huskies were placed ninth in the bracket and were given the task to face Colorado.

They were not without any troubles as they saw themselves down in the first half 36-27. However, they have a never-say-die attitude and made sure they fought back as they outscored their opponents by 16 points in the second half to take a 74-67 win.

Rodney Purvis had an absolutely stellar game as he shot 7 of 13 from the field to finish with 19 points as he also had five rebounds in 25 minutes on the floor.

Daniel Hamilton played 38 minutes and had 17 points in the game as he shot 50% from the field to also help the Huskies secure a date against the Jayhawks.

Connecticut shot 40% in the game and were excellent from the free throw line as they made 22 of 23 in the night to help them get the victory.

Now that win secures them a date with another higher seeded opponent, and they definitely have their eyes on a big upset.

In the other game, Kansas were simply unstoppable against Austin Peay as they dominated both halves to eventually win 105-79.

The game was essentially over in the first half as Kansas had a 48-28 lead and they kept their composure to stop any chance of a comeback.

Two players scored more than 20 points in the game as Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk had 23 to lead Kansas, while Perry Ellis added 21 while shooting 8 of 12 from the field.
