Kelly Rowland Rescued From Boat Offshore

Kelly Rowland was among those rescued on a boat that had gotten lost at sea after a whale watching session over the weekend.

Whale watching is popular off the coast of Boston, Massachusetts and near the Cape Cod peninsula with dozens of companies offering tours of the scenic spots.

On Friday, Rowland was aboard a private rented boat near the coast of Cape Cod when the captain became disoriented after losing sight of a commercial whale-watching vessel that he had been following.

Fortunately, the Coast Guard rescued the singer as well as the rest of the passengers who were towed back to shore.

Once alerted, the Coast Guard directed a commercial towboat operator to escort the private boat back to Provincetown, according to the Huffington Post.

TowBoat U.S. Provincetown said on Facebook that the boat Rowland was on had drifted 33 miles north of Provincetown and that its passengers "were great. Just a little shook up."

Meanwhile, Rowland was a founding member of the group Destiny's Child alongside Beyonce Knowles and Michelle Williams.

The 32-year-old singer went on to establish a successful solo career. However, her success pales in comparison to that of Beyonce. Nevertheless, Rowland admitted that she does not feel envious while on the Russ Parr Morning Show.

"It's not about achieving [Beyonce's] level but achieving my own," explained the singer. "So many people were like, 'When you gon' so this like Bey.' When you're in a relationship and somebody's comparing you and your sister as well, you're hearing it all the time. That to you starts to sound like a normal thing when it's not."

Furthermore, Rowland disregarded some critics who hold her to the same standards as Beyonce.

"The world would be boring if we all did the same thing over and over again, and I don't want to be on her [Beyonce's] level," the singer said on the R&B morning show. "I want my own. And Michelle [Williams] wants her own. When people compare, it's just so insane to me."

Rowland just released her new album "Talk A Good Game" where the hit single "Dirty Laundry" is found.
