Longtime charismatic "prophet" Kevin Leal has raised eyebrows online for ordering a teenager to eat a physical page from the book of Proverbs to get the wisdom he will need when God makes him a millionaire.

The teenager, identified as 18-year-old Ethan Soucy, is an instructor at Culture Architects, a faith-based, nondenominational Christian ministry, founded by his uncle, Pastor Lance Garduna, in the Parkersburg area of West Virginia.

Leal prophesied back in February that Soucy, who drew local attention in Naples, Florida, for his weightlifting skills when he was 16 years old, would become a millionaire through business.

The minister, whose website claims he has been operating as a prophet for three decades, called out Soucy during an Encounter Conference service at The Rock Family Worship Center in Parkersburg in February.

“I told him a couple of years ago, … ‘You're going to be a millionaire … and God's going to do the work in your heart that you don't become a flaky millionaire,’” Leal said.

Leal explained that he previously prophesied over people in the church who subsequently became millionaires, and when it happened, “they became jerks.”

“They became drunks, rebels, lawless and God's about to snatch what he gave them out of their hands. And they don't even know it. Don't even have a clue,” he declared.

With Soucy, however, Leal prophesied he would be different.

“You're going to be one that writes big checks for ministers. You're going to build church buildings in third-world countries. You're going to pay the salaries of preachers around the world. God's going to give you as much money as you can administrate,” he declared over the teenager.

“You're not getting it because your family has something. It's because you have something for Me (God),” he further explained.

Leal then told Soucy to ask God to make him a “kingdom businessman,” and the teenager complied.

“Make me a Kingdom businessman. Make me money so I can give it to the Kingdom. Make money for the Kingdom through me,” Soucy declared.

Leal then had several businessmen make proclamations over Soucy, including one who declared: “I see not just a million, but I see millions and millions.”

The Rock Senior Pastor David Chisholm later said he saw a vision of Soucy sitting at a table consuming Scripture like food.

“I saw you sitting at a table, a dinner table, knife, fork, spoon, and laying in front of you was a Bible. And it was open to the book of Proverbs. And I seen you reach down and you took Chapter 1 and you tore it out, and you crumpled it up, and you put it in your mouth, and you chewed it, and you swallowed it,” Chisolm said. “And then you went to Chapter 2. You tore it out of the Bible, you crumpled it up, put it in your mouth, and swallowed it.”

He then advised Soucy to read a chapter from Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and the Psalms in the Bible from at least 10 different translations daily for the next several years of his life.

“I did that when I was young. I read the book of Proverbs. I devoured it. And you know, when I was 26, I had 70-year-old men sitting at my desk for counsel, saying, ‘Why am I in front of you? You should be in front of me,’” Chisolm said.

Leal then asked for a paper Bible and ripped a page from the book of Proverbs, handed it to Soucy, and told him to eat it.

“When you eat this, the power of God is going to go inside of you,” he said.

Soucy chewed the page and swallowed it with the help of some water before Leal motioned him away and continued with his prophetic work.
