Kim Kardashian Becoming High-End Fashion Designer? Kanye West to Help Reality Star

Kanye West is reportedly urging Kim Kardashian to become a high-end fashion designer in an attempt to revamp her image.

The "New Slaves" rapper, 36, reportedly wants the reality TV star, 32, to distance herself from the Kardashian Kollection and rethink her target market. The couple recently welcomed the birth of their first child, baby North, and a source claims that Kardashian's potential high-end clothing line may possibly be named after her daughter.

"[Kanye] wants Kim to distance herself from the Kardashian clothing line that is sold at Sears because he thinks it's tacky, and cheapens her brand," a family insider told

"Instead of having Kim's designs sold at a discount department store, Kanye wants her to design a line that would be sold in posh stores such as Henri Bendel, Harrod's and Bergdorf Goodman," the source explained. "Kanye would want to be involved in the line as he has been essential in making over Kim's closet."

West, whose own clothing line has been seen on runways in Paris, is believed to have a lot of experience in the fashion industry. The couple would likely work together to launch and sell the high-end line.

"It would be a project they could work on together, and could even name the line after daughter, Nori," the source said.

The news comes just days after it was claimed that West is doing everything possible to help Kardashian land her very first Vogue magazine cover. Reports claim that instead of selling the first photos of baby North to a tabloid like many celebrities often do, the Grammy award-winning rapper is trying to convince editor-in-chief Anna Wintour to put Kardashian and her daughter on the cover of the leading fashion publication.

"It's no secret that Kanye is a huge fan of fashion, Vogue and especially Anna Wintour. But it's also pretty well-known that Anna is NO fan of Kim or any reality star appearing in the pages of the magazine," a source close to West said.
