Kristen Bell On Motherhood 'Too Much Joy'

Kristen Bell opened up about motherhood while discussing her new movie "Veronica Mars" recently.

The actress and her fiancé Dax Shepherd welcome their first child, a baby girl named Lincoln, in late March.

Following her daughter's arrival, Bell headed to work as Veronica Mars on the film adaptation of the popular television series. During San Diego's Comic Con on Friday, the actress explained the challenges of being on the set of "Veronica Mars."

"It was hard because I always wanted to be with the baby a ton," said Bell, according to Us Weekly. "But also, I was so excited to be with my friends again. It's almost too much joy, if that's possible."

"Veronica Mars" ran for three seasons until 2007, but after fans rallied behind a Kickstarter campaign, the film adaptation of the show has now wrapped filming.

"It's an absolute dream come true," said Bell. "We were somehow lucky enough that people who watched the show wanted to give us all of their hard-earned money and say, 'Here, will you do this?' We were just overjoyed. It's a really lucky situation to be in."

The show became a cult classic through its die-hard fans, and after creator Rob Thomas began the Kickstarter campaign, over $5.7 million was raised through the site. In it, Bell portrayed a student who works part time at her father's private detective company.

"Veronica Mars" the movie will also star Ryan Hansen, Chris Lowell, Francis Capra and Jason Dohring, among others.

Although most of the original cast is back for the film, Leighton Meester was unable to be recast because of scheduling conflicts.

"Sadly, Leighton was doing a different movie during the same time frame on the wrong coast," Thomas explained online. "In the end, she was unavailable."

The film is scheduled for release sometime in early 2014.
