New Technology News 2015: Sharp Announces Highest Resolution 5.5-Inch Display

In recent years, more smartphones are getting better and higher quality displays in order to improve user experience to their customers. A couple of years ago, Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution was the best in the mobile phone industry. However, it was replaced by QHD (2560 x 1440) screens last year. Now, it seems Sharp will take its place at the top of the display food chain once more.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the Japanese manufacturer has recently announced its new 4K LCD display that boasts a 3860 x 2160 resolution. In a 5.5-inch display, the resolution results in an 806ppi density.

In the report, the UHD display will fit the phablets of today, and could be the next best thing in the mobile industry.

Unfortunately, the report also mentioned that mass production for the 4K displays could be a problem, and Sharp stated that it might only be able to mass-produce the displays in 2016.

However, it seems the technology does not impress some consumers.

Some user comments mentioned that the ultra high-resolution display would only take a large toll on the mobile device's battery.
