Lea Michele, Marie Claire Talk Before Cory Monteith's Death: 'He Made My Life Incredible'

The last interview Lea Michele gave ahead of the death of her boyfriend Cory Monteith has been released in Marie Claire Mexico.

In the magazine interview given just one month before Monteith's death, Michele discussed her relationship with her "Glee" co-star.

"It's more interesting having a relationship with someone you work with because we get more attention because we play boyfriend and girlfriend on the show and we are also in real life," the actress explained of her onscreen and off-screen boyfriend.

"But he is the best person I know, he had made my life so incredible, and I am so thankful for him and not only to have him as a partner but also as a co-worker," Michele added.

Furthermore, Monteith reportedly escorted Michele to the photo shoot for the magazine, according to E! News.

"Cory showed up in great spirits and was very nice to everybody there; he even took pictures with whoever asked for it," said Marie Claire Mexico's editor-in-chief Ariadne Grant. "He just asked for a Coke and stayed there watching the shooting until it was done."

Meanwhile, unbeknownst to her, Monteith's trouble with addiction was still raging on. The actor was found dead in his hotel room in Vancouver on July 13. An autopsy revealed that the 31-year-old died from a toxic combination of heroin and alcohol.

Other reports surfaced this week about Monteith's sweet idea for his girlfriend's upcoming birthday. Although he did not live to complete the plan, the actor was going to surprise 26-year-old Michele on her birthday Aug. 29.

"She didn't know what, but she thought it could be a party and possibly a trip somewhere," said an insider at Us Weekly.

The couple were also reportedly taking their relationship very seriously with Michele telling a friend that Monteith was "the one," according to the magazine.

"Lea and Cory were planning on moving in together after he got back from Vancouver," another source told Us Weekly, clarifying that the pair were not considering an engagement or marriage yet, "but it was headed that way."

Following Monteith's death, Michele has stepped out of the limelight, taking personal time to grieve.
