Lenovo Yoga 520 Release Date, Specs Rumors: Convertible Notebook Leaks Before Official Launch This Month
Another brand-new device from Lenovo has been leaked ahead of its touted launch at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) later this month. Following earlier appearances by the Yoga 720 laptop and Miix 320 tablet, the Yoga 520 — a convertible notebook that will serve as the successor to last year's Yoga 510 — has also been spotted online.
Notebook Italia managed to obtain promotional images and the key specifications of the Yoga 520 laptop. According to the website, the upcoming device will not be a major update but will be equipped with up-to-date components and features. Design-wise, it has similar dimensions as the current Yoga 510 but has slimmer bezels on the top of the screen. There will also be three colors available for the device: Mineral Gray, Onyx Black and Metallic Gold.
The Lenovo Yoga 520 will have two variants with 14-inch and 15.6-inch displays, respectively. Both models will feature a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels.
It will be powered by the seventh-generation Intel Kaby Lake processors with support for up to Core i7 chips. The larger version of the laptop can also be availed with the latest AMD Radeon graphics processing unit (GPU), though the specific unit has not been identified.
The upcoming convertible notebook will have support for up to 16 GB of random-access memory (RAM). In terms of built-in storage, customers will have the option of up to 512 GB of solid-state drive (SSD) memory or up to 1 TB of hard disk drive (HDD). Lenovo will also reportedly offer a hybrid memory configuration of 128 GB SSD and 1 TB HDD.
Other notable features include two stereo speakers from Harman Kardon and a 720p webcam with dual-array microphones for noise cancellation. The Yoga 520 will also be optional with a fingerprint reader. Connectivity-wise, there will be two USB 3.0 ports, one USB Type-C port, HDMI output, Gigabit Ethernet, a microSD card reader and a 3.5 mm audio jack.
The Lenovo Yoga 520 is expected to be unveiled at MWC 2017, scheduled from Feb. 27 to March 2, before going on sale sometime in the summer.
