LG Nexus 5 Rumors: Android 5.0, Key Lime Pie Smartphone Still in the Works

The latest LG Nexus 5 rumor points to the smartphone still being in the works.

The company's Kim Wong recently sat down for an interview where he revealed that the LG Nexus 5 was not in the LG's immediate plans. LG also issued a statement saying that the Nexus 5 was not something they were working on at the moment.

However, the company could have been bluffing, according to a Korean site known as Daum.net. Daum is reporting that the next-gen Nexus model has been testing inside LG for around a month under strict security conditions.

The site also stated that outside of those working closely with the device and Google's CEO Larry Page, no one has seen the 5-inch Nexus smartphone. This handset could potentially be the first one to run Android 5.0, Key Lime Pie.

Specifications for the LG Nexus 5 were first leaked back in March which included a 5.2-inch OLED Display with 1920 x 1080 resolution, a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 3GB RAM, a 16-megapixel rear camera, a 2.1-megapixel front camera, and a 3300 mAh Lithium battery.

Other features include gesture like controls and integrated DVB-T along with LTE connectivity, which was not available on the LG Nexus 4.

LG also announced the release of the all white version of the wildly popular Nexus 4 earlier this week.

"Nexus 4 set the standard for Android 4.2, JellyBean smartphones," said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Mobile Communications Company. "Nexus 4 White delivers the same Google experience to consumers in a stylish and attractive color option."

The new version comes with the same 4.7-inch 1280 x 768 True HD IPS Plus display with 320ppi, which is also found on the regular model. It also features a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and 2GB of RAM.
