'Longmire' Season 5 Spoilers: Longer Episodes; Fan Theories

After the surprising finale of the series "Longmire," fans are waiting to learn more about who could be responsible for interrupting Walt and Dr. Monahan's moment.

The previous episode of the series ended with someone breaking into Walt's, played by Robert Taylor, home. However, it was not revealed whether who was the one who did it. With fans anxiously waiting for the return of the series, there are speculations on who the culprit could be.

One of the most popular suspects for the crime is Walker Browning since the episode revealed that he was no longer in his hospital bed. Browning has the motivation to do so because Walt had ruined his plans. Meanwhile, there is still the question of how he found out where Walt lives and how exactly he got away from the hospital.

Jacob Nighthorse could also be the one responsible since the series has shown him constantly in conflict with Walt. However, the only flaw to this theory is that Nighthorse does not have a strong enough motivation to kill him.

Other names that popped up regarding the episode were Monte, Zachary, and Sam Poteet. However, speculations on them are highly unlikely since they do not present a strong reason as to why they would want to kill Walt.

There are also theories that whoever burned the van could also be the one who broke into Walt's home. This would shift the story to having Donna Sue as the target, not Walt. Nevertheless, the possibility is endless since Walt has many enemies, as seen throughout the series. There is a chance that the series will present a new character from Walt's past.

Fans will have to wait for the series' return to find out the answer. After the series was renewed for a fifth season by Netflix, it was revealed that the episodes will be longer than before. The episodes will be around an hour long, which can allow for a more cinematic narrative.
