Love Dare Site Invites Real Couples to Share Stories

Just in time for Valentine's Day, fans of bestselling book The Love Dare from the hit film "Fireproof," can now share with the Christian community how the book has changed their marriage.

B&H Publishing Group this week announced that it has revamped the book's website to allow readers to upload videos and share their "happy ending."

"This new community network lets people meet and interact in an online space just for them," said Andrea Dennis, B&H marketing manager, in a statement. "Couples or individuals create their own user profiles and share their own Love Dare stories both through written journals and, what has us most excited, a new video blog."

The Love Dare is a book of daily devotions for couples that ends each day with a "dare" for each partner to act out what the Bible teaches towards their spouse. The book is based on the film "Fireproof," where fireman Caleb Holt (played by Kirk Cameron) is asked by his father to take a 40-day marriage challenge before moving forward with divorce proceedings to end his seven-year marriage to wife Catherine (played by Erin Bethea).

Through The Love Dare, Holt is able to change his attitude about his wife from "how she fails me" to "what I can do, through Christ, to love and support her." The movie ends with the couple reconciling and committing their lives to Christ.

The Love Dare has sold more than 3 million copies in 27 languages and is a New York Times bestseller.

Those behind the new Love Dare video blog hope the individual stories posted online can serve to encourage other couples around the world.

"People read this book and want to talk," said Dennis. "The idea is to meet and talk to others who have taken the Love Dare – to encourage, share ideas, and hold one another accountable."

Besides the new online video feature, the book's publisher also announced that The Love Dare is now available on iTunes to be downloaded. A 30-day version is currently available, and the 365-day version will soon be available for download on iTunes.
