Madden 15 Release Date Announced for August 26

The Madden NFL 15 release date was announced earlier today for Aug. 26.

The game's developer, Electronic Arts, revealed the launch date in a press release today. The company will also said that fans will be able to vote for who they would like to see on the cover starting May 8.

"Madden NFL 15 delivers everything fans need to own their rivals on both side of the field, including the most immersive defensive gameplay control in franchise history," wrote EA. "Like the Super Bowl XLVIII champion Seattle Seahawks, you can win championships and bask in the glory of success by building a great defense fit to challenge the best offenses in the game."

EA will collaborate with ESPN for the process of picking the player that will grace the cover of the game. Last year's voting broke records and with an astounding amount of fans participating in the selection.

Those interested in voting should tune-in to the NFL Draft on ESPN and NFL network on May 8 at 8pm ET to hear more about the Cover Vote.

This will be the first Madden to launch for the next-gen consoles including the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.

The game will officially launch in the U.S. on Aug. 26 and will hit Europe on Aug. 29. It will also be available for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. A trailer for the game that features Caroline Panthers linebacker and Defensive Player of the Year Luke Kuechly was also release and can be seen here.

Madden 15 will be the first big name sports title to launch on the new consoles. The next-gen EA NHL game will most likely be released sometime in the fall of this year.
