Mandisa 'Overcomer' on Fox & Friends with Elisabeth Hasselbeck Today

This morning Christian singer and three-time Grammy nominee, Mandisa, was on Fox & Friends to help celebrate new co-host, Elisabeth Hasselbeck's first day.

Mandisa's music video for "Overcomer" debuted last week exclusively on Good Morning America's website.

The video features appearances with former U.S. Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, Captain Mark Kelly, Gold Medalist Scott Hamilton, and GMA's Robin Roberts.

"We chose each of them because when we thought of who has been an example of an overcomer in a very public battle, it is hard to imagine anyone more appropriate than the amazing people in my video. They have all fought, and continue to fight victoriously. I pray that sharing their inspirational stories throughout the video will leave people saying, 'If they can do it, so can I!'" Mandisa said in a press release.

"I was really inspired by Mandisa's song 'Overcomer' because its message is one of hope, perseverance and faith," said Gabby Giffords, former U.S. Congresswoman about the song in a statement. "We can't always control what happens to us in life, but we can control how we respond. Like the song says, if we keep positive and 'stay in the fight till the final round,' we can overcome more than we ever dreamed possible."

The single was originally performed on "Good Morning America" Thursday, Aug. 29, and since then the song has peaked at no. 1 on the iTunes Christian Singles Chart and is no. 1 on AC Indicator.

"As an anthemic project, this one soars … Mandisa's strong and powerful vocal launches songs like, 'The Distance' and 'Overcomer' to great heights. She shows even more vocal prowess and dexterity on, 'Dear John,' which was a refreshing change from the all-powerhouse vocal she normally delivers. Overall, an encouraging and hopeful project," said CCM Magazine.

"I recorded both the song and the album to fuel faith, empower people, and remind those facing a battle, that all of the strength, power, and weapons of warfare they need is readily available to them. We are all overcomers," Mandisa said through the M Collective.
