Manny Pacquiao 'Excited' to Work With 50 Cent Amid Rapper's Issues With Floyd Mayweather

Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson may be working with his best friend Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s rival, Manny Pacquiao on a boxing promotional company after the rapper admitted to having some problems with his pal.

According to Pacquiao's adviser Michael Koncz, Jackson's team initiated talks about working together to form a promotional company.

"50 Cent and I have been talking now for maybe the last two months. They approached us with the idea to form a promotional company," Koncz told Boxing Scene. "Initially it was going to be 50 Cent, Manny and Floyd. But right now I don't think Floyd is going to be a part of it."

Koncz spoke about the 37-year-old rapper and entrepreneur being an asset to 33-year-old Pacquiao.

"I think with 50 Cent, with his entertainment connections and his popularity there, combining that with Manny's popularity and expertise in boxing – we can bring a new flavor to boxing," Koncz told Boxing Scene. "We can excite some young boxers and I think we can sign some top quality boxers."

According to the Filipino pugilist's associate, plans already seem to be finalized concerning Jackson working with Pacquiao.

"I spoke to 50 Cent tonight and confirmed that we're going to go forward. Manny is coming here this weekend for other business, but we're all excited about it," Koncz said. "With 50's influence in the music industry, we want to put a different flavor on the shows."

Pacquiao's top adviser spoke about how the joint venture between Mayweather's rival and best friend could change the boxing game.

"On pay-per-view events maybe we won't do four fights. Maybe we'll do two fights and a mini-concert in between or something," Koncz said. "A different angle on it. People know Manny cares about other boxers and I think that's going to be important when we go out and sign other quality boxers who may not know 50 Cent but on the other hand know Manny and know his generous character to other boxers."

The news comes on the heels of Jackson publicly speaking about having issues with his best friend Mayweather, 35-year-old undefeated boxer. Jackson, 37, hinted that there were signs of discord between the two friends in a recent interview on "The Rickey Smiley Show."

According to Jackson, his 35-year-old friend changed after being released from jail, where he served over two months for engaging in a domestic dispute with the mother of his children.

"Me and Floyd is always gonna be cool. He is different," the rapper said on "The Rickey Smiley Show." "[There's been] a different side of Floyd coming out of the pen. That's all."

However, Jackson also admitted that there may be more to the story.

"[The issues between us] really comes from … everybody around him is waiting on the next time he feels generous. And I have a lot [of money], so I don't wait for nobody," the rapper said in the interview. "I'll go do what I gotta do. I don't have to sit around and wait for the next time he feels like giving somebody something."
