Matthew Fox Detained by Police for Punching a Woman

Former Lost star Matthew Fox was detained over the weekend after allegedly punching a woman in the chest and stomach. On Saturday night, Fox was placed in police custody in Cleveland after he attempted to hitch a ride to his hotel on a private party bus. The driver, Heather Bormann, refused to let the television star aboard the bus, saying it was rented out and that Fox was trespassing.

Instead of finding another ride, reports say that Fox then punched the woman in her chest and stomach. The 29-year-old bus driver defended his blows by punching him in the mouth.

Bormann fears she may have broken her hand and could require medical attention.

Fox was not arrested for allegedly assaulting Bormann and was reportedly released early Monday morning.

“Officers do not have to arrest on a misdemeanor charge (assault) unless they witnessed it. For a misdemeanor offense it is up to the victim to consult with a prosecutor to press charges,” explained a spokesperson for the Cleveland Police in a statement.

Nevertheless, this law will not stop Bormann from pursing legal action against Fox.

“Even before [the police officer] told me who he was, I intended to pursue this. His first punch landed on my crotch, and his second punch hit my breast. I really felt violated.”

Fox recently appeared in the play “In a Forest, Dark and Deep” in London and is slated to co-star in Brad Pitt’s “World War Z.”

A fan took a picture with the actor on the night he was arrested and claims the picture reveals a calm and sober Fox. The fan responded on Fox’s innocence via Twitter saying, “I do not believe that story about Matthew Fox assaulting [sic] that woman Saturday night. I saw him that night. He was fine. Smh.”

As of yet, a representative for Fox has not responded to the allegations.
