"There's three things that I need each day," McConaughey said. "One of them is something to look up to, another is something to look forward to, and another is someone to chase. First off, I want to thank God 'cause that's who I look up to. He's graced my life with opportunities that I know are not of my hand or any other human hand. He has shown me that it's a scientific fact that gratitude receiprocates. In the words of the late Charlie Lawton who said, 'when you got God, you got a friend and that friend is you.'"

McConaughey has evolved from a young Texan to a certified Hollywood star, but he has not forgotten his roots. He started the "just keep livin" foundation to help youth become better and grow into fine men and women. McConaughey is dedicated to helping others and raising his own family the best that he can.

He currently stars in the HBO series "True Detective" and is rumored to appear in "Magic Mike 2," which is a sequel to the unexpected hit, "Magic Mike."
