Meagan Good Responds to Critics of Revealing BET Awards Dress

Meagan Good, the 32-year-old Christian actress married to Hollywood executive and preacher DeVon Franklin, is responding to the backlash she is receiving after wearing a revealing dress to the recent BET awards.

Good presented the BET "Best Gospel Artist" award in a revealing blue dress with a plunging neckline. The Christian actress' wardrobe caused a number of people to take to social media networks like Twitter to question the actress who has been vocal about her faith in numerous interviews lately.

"Why is Meagan Good's breasts out while presenting a Gospel award though? ‪#Distasteful‬ and she married to a preacher," one person questioned on Twitter.

A plethora of others followed the same sentiments. However, some people thought those judging Good were not presenting themselves as Christians either.

"@msgood, I'm sorry you're being JUDGED by folks who should be walking in LOVE. Sending many blessings on your marriage & much LOVE your way," another person wrote on Good's Instagram.

Good decided to respond to critics by taking to her Instagram account.

"I never forgot God was there for a second.. and would never be ashamed of what I'm wearing (in) front of him...," Good responded to one person on Instagram. "He loves me for exactly who He created me to be despite what anyone else thinks..."

The actress went on to post a screenshot of one person's comment that defended her wardrobe choice.

"I love it! Go head Meagan, keep making people start the conversations and confront their religiosity and judgmental spirits and forgetting what they have been redeemed from," the person wrote in a message reposted on her Instagram account. "Love covers a multitude of sins and your love stance will continue to reveal the difference between the Kingdom of God (righteousness, joy, peach motivated by love) vs Religion! #kingdomfriend #igetit."

Good has defended what she calls being a "sexy Christian" in the past. Good has spoken about women being sexy in a classy way, and spoke about some religious people being judgmental of her decision to showcase that side of her personality.

" [...] I'm getting sexy and all that but there is a way to do it, there is a classy way to do everything and there is nothing wrong with being sexy or having sex appeal and I think that I am definitely going to be someone who is boldly going to go out to the masses and be someone who say, ' Look! Women its okay to do this, that and the other,'" Good said while speaking at One Church International in Los Angeles earlier this year. "...I don't like [how] sometimes people who are religious will try and force everyone into a box and judge them."
