Miley Cyrus Defends Herself Amid Beyonce Rumors

Miley Cyrus is upset that she is being linked to reports speaking negatively about the singer she looks up to, Beyonce.

Cyrus is speaking out against that she is looking to take over 32-year-old Beyonce's position as a music industry heavyweight.

"That quote people MADE UP about Beyoncé just made me lol! How are people allowed to make up (expletive) & then [put] quotes around it saying I said that (expletive)! WTF," Cyrus exclaimed on Twitter. "U can cause A LOT of drama but NOT between me & B!"

Cyrus' rant came after Love magazine claimed that she spoke about fans looking to hear more than just the veteran superstar.

"Beyonce has been a big inspiration to me, but she's been out for such a long time," Love magazine reported Cyrus as saying. "She's so talented and I think she's at the top of her game now, but people are always looking for new blood and that's what I bring to the game."

Cyrus has been the face of controversy lately as a singer who has seemingly prided herself on her provocative appearance more than her music. The singer caused a stir during her MTV Video Music Awards performance in the summer, when she stripped down to a bikini while gyrating on married R&B singer Robin Thicke, 36.

"I went from people just thinking I was, like, a baby to people thinking I'm this, like, sex freak that really just pops molly and does lines all day," Cyrus also told The New York Times recently. "It's like, 'Has anyone ever heard of rock 'n' roll?' There's a sex scene in pretty much every single movie, and they go, 'Well, that's a character.' Well, that's a character."

Still, Cyrus insists that the image that she portrays is not necessarily who she is.

"I don't really dress as a teddy bear and, like, twerk on Robin Thicke, you know," she insisted to The Times.
