Minnie Driver Reveals Son's Father
Actress Minnie Driver has revealed the paternity of her 3-year-old son, at last.
The "Good Will Hunting" star said that she shares her son, Henry Story Driver, with the writer of the canceled television series "The Riches."
Driver previously starred in "The Riches" from 2007-2008, and the 42-year-old actress kept the details of her pregnancy out of the media's spotlight.
"I don't need to protect him anymore, he can fend for himself. He's a grown-up," said Driver speaking to the U.K.'s magazine, The Observer.
"We weren't together and he wasn't directly in the business, so I chose to protect him and not have a rain of publicity," she explained.
At one point, "Minnie Driver son's father" was a trending topic on several search websites online, but the star admitted she did not know what the "big story" was because the man in question "is not famous."
Although she did not name the FX series writer, Driver also revealed that her son's father has recently made greater attempts to be in Henry's life.
"Is he a good dad? Sort of," said Driver. "He's figuring it out. I mean, he hasn't been that involved -- his choice. But he is now."
The Academy Award-nominated actress and London native continued her candidly honest interview with The Observer by admitting the drawbacks of living in California.
"Everywhere you go, you see an advert for a new film or TV show that you didn't get and you're reminded that it's pilot season and you've got to get on it," explained Driver.
She added that another negative result of working in Hollywood is dating male actors.
"It's either that of ex-boyfriends," she added. "There was one time I realized I'd *****ed a whole billboard! My sister pointed it out to me when we were driving past and we laughed so hard. But oh, that's so…I'm being so naughty," said Driver.
Driver's latest project is the indie musical film "Hunky Dory." In one last revelation, the actress admitted she would love to appear on FOX's television series "Glee."
"Oh, I've been trying to get on that show since, well, God knows," said Driver. "I know, I'm not scared to say it," she laughed.
