'Modern Family' Season 7 Recap: Making a Positive Out of a Negative

The most recent episode of "Modern Family" showed members of the family trying to make something good out of a bad situation.

The episode showed Gloria becoming too excited about her role as jury. Unfortunately, her enthusiasm caused her to get kicked out of the group. With that, she then tried to help Mitch and Cam with their current dilemma.

It was revealed that Mitch invited Raymond to their party. While he was trying to help Raymond out, since he just got out of a long-term relationship, it seemed that Raymond's presence was keeping their guests from coming to the party.

He revealed to Gloria that Raymond's breakup struck a chord with him because he believed that he would be the Raymond of the relationship if ever he and Cam broke up. Raymond was seen sulking and doing nothing all day. With that, Gloria called his bluff and realized that it was not actually Mitch who will be Raymond if they broke up, but Cam. Nevertheless, Gloria tried to keep the party going to give Raymond a good time.

While Gloria's busy, Jay was seen taking Joe to The Learnin' Barn, along with Margaret. He began enjoying the story of "Larry the Lonely Leopard," when he suddenly got mocked by Big Ears. With that, Joe came to the rescue and lifted his father's spirits up.

Unfortunately, the episode received several criticisms, stating that the series is currently lacking good jokes. Fans believe that the show has been lacking focus and bringing in repeating stories. With that, fans are hoping that the season will bring in depth to the episodes, especially with many milestones such as Alex's big college move. The only way fans can find out if it will improve is to keep tuning into the series.
