According to GameSpot, the open-world game will be available in both platforms worldwide starting on Jan. 26, 2018. A PC release will reportedly follow soon.

The announcement was made during Sony's Tokyo Game Show conference. Aside from the new trailer, Capcom also unveiled a collector's edition for the game that comprised of a special art box, the game's soundtrack and an action figure of a new monster named Nergigante.

Capcom also announced that a "Monster Hunter: World"-themed PlayStation 4 Pro model will soon be released in Japan. Rumors claim that the special Liolaeus Edition will be available as early as Dec. 7, but this has not been confirmed.

Meanwhile, those who preordered the game, whether in digital or physical form, are set to get special bonuses. Some of the freebies included are the Origin Set Armor and the Fair Wind Charm talisman. These will reportedly help gamers in boosting their defense and offense stats.

"Monster Hunter: World" is going to be the fifth main title in the "Monster Hunter" franchise. It was first teased by Capcom during Sony's E3 2017 event.

In the role-playing game, players will scale walls and battle with monsters. A new trailer also revealed some of the new weapons added, like a machine gun and a grappling hook. According to Polygon, the promo also showcased new creatures like the Pukei-Pukei and already-mentioned Nergigante, as well as new environments such as the Coral Highlands stage and Astera, the Research Commission's base of operations.

Capcom promised that after the PS4 and Xbox One launch, they will soon announce the release date for the PC version. At the moment, players can look forward to the console versions set to arrive in 2018.
