Mumford & Sons' Ted Dwane Hospitalized, Recovering
Bassist for Mumford & Sons Ted Dwane underwent emergency surgery on his brain after suffering from a blood clot on Monday.
The dangerous blood clot fortunately has been treated, but the famed English band was forced to postpone three shows as Dwane recovers.
"Ted has been feeling unwell for a few days, and yesterday he was taken to a hospital to receive emergency treatment," Mumford & Sons posted on their official website on Tuesday.
"The scans revealed a blood clot on the surface of his brain that requires an operation," it continued. "Ted is receiving excellent care and we are being assured that he will recover quickly from surgery."
While the band is rescheduling performances in Dallas, The Woodlands, and New Orleans, the group assured fans that "we have no plans to cancel or postpone any other appearances along this current tour."
Furthermore, fans that have purchased tickets to the three rescheduled performances can hold onto them because new dates will be announced as soon as possible, according to CNN.
"We're all wishing Ted a speedy recovery," noted the band in the online statement.
Similar to the band, Mumford & Sons fans are wishing the best for Dwane. Twitter has been flooded with messages of support.
"Ted Dwane treated for blood clot on his brain, get well soon," posted Twitter user Michael.
Julie added, "Ted Dwane, please get better soon. Mumford and Sons is nothing without yaaa."
Meanwhile, Mumford & Sons is expected to perform at the Bonnaroo music festival on Saturday.
The Grammy Award-winning group consists of Dwane, vocalist Marcus Mumford, musician Ben Lovett, and guitarist Winston Marshall. Their debut album "Sigh No More" saw chart-topping singles such as "Little Lion Man" and "The Cave."
The band's second album "Babel" was released last year and features the hit song "I Will Wait."
