NASCAR's Michael McDowell Races the K-LOVE Car for the Lord

NASCAR driver Michael McDowell raced his #18 K-LOVE Toyota to a second-place finish at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio.

McDowell secured his position for Saturday's Nationwide Children's Hospital 200 where he helped K-LOVE end the 2013 racing schedule on a high note.

The K-LOVE logo has been used by McDowell in three races during this year's NASCAR schedule so far. In that time he had a top 10 finish at the Daytona 500, along with the Johnsonville Sausage 200 and Nationwide's Children's Hospital 200.

Driving the #98 K-LOVE Ford, McDowell had his best finish ever, finishing in ninth place at the Daytona 500.

"I know why I'm here," said McDowell in a press release. "I know I've been called to be in this sport, to help disciple the young guys coming up, and share my faith at our events...the racing is just the platform I have.  I know God has a mission for me both on and off the track."

The 28-year-old is part of the Phil Parsons Racing and Joe Gibbs Racing team, along with fellow drivers Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch and Matt Kenseth.

McDowell has been sponsored by K-LOVE in both the #18 Toyota and #98 Ford.

"K-LOVE's association with NASCAR, Joe Gibbs Racing and Michael McDowell in particular, is both exciting and rewarding," said Mike Novak, President/CEO of the K-LOVE and Air1 Radio Network in a press release. "To have Michael as a friend of the ministry is a real blessing."

K-LOVE is one of the countries most popular Christian radio stations with an estimated weekly audience of 14 million listeners.
