National Christian Foundation Celebrates $6 Billion in Contributions

America's 12th Largest Charity Reaches Milestone

National Christian Foundation (NCF), considered the largest Christian grant-making organization in the world, reached a monumental milestone in its giving history Tuesday when it received its six billionth dollar in contributions since 1982.

"To have reached this milestone with the heart of the year-end giving season still ahead of us is truly exciting, and we thank the thousands of generous givers who are expressing their generosity through NCF," said NCF National President David Wills. "They understand that giving is much more than a transaction – it's a transformational experience. Together, we're mobilizing an unprecedented amount of money for charities doing great, great work."

It took NCF just fourteen months to go from $5 billion to $6 billion in contributions. And of the $6 billion received, NCF has already granted $4.3 billion back out – which illustrates their commitment to rapidly mobilizing resources for charity, the foundation states. The growing number of contributions and grants indicates significant momentum for the busy season ahead, as givers complete their gifts before the December 31 tax deadline.

Headquartered in Atlanta, Ga., National Christian Foundation (NCF) helps supporters simplify the process of giving to their favorite charities, and multiply the impact of their gifts through tax-wise strategies, according to the organization. Since 1982, NCF has become America's largest sponsor of donor-advised funds for Christian givers with over $6 billion in contributions and more than $4 billion granted to thousands of churches, ministries, and non-profits.

In 1982, three Christian financial experts came together with a vision for a new type of charitable foundation – one that would simplify the process of giving, multiply the results, and glorify the Lord, according to officials.

From a small office in Atlanta, Ga., bestselling author and entrepreneur Larry Burkett, leading financial advisor Ron Blue, and tax attorney Terry Parker began to introduce innovative, tax-wise solutions for transferring wealth to God's Kingdom.

Through their efforts, National Christian Foundation was born.

"We went on to introduce one of the first Christian-focused donor-advised funds – what we now call the Giving Fund," states NCF. "We also developed a special expertise in asset-based giving – the tax-smart way to donate non-cash assets such as real estate and business interests."

NCF states on its website: "Over the past three decades, we've become the nation's largest provider of donor-advised funds focused primarily on Christian givers. With our home office in Atlanta and affiliates across the country, we've assembled a team of over 200 of the brightest, most passionate experts in charitable giving. And while we're one of the largest non-profits in the U.S., you'll discover that we're still a family, united in Christ, all personally committed to generosity.

Today, we help thousands of generous believers, just like you, to reach their highest potential in giving. The result? More impact for the Kingdom, more joy for you, and ultimately, more glory for God."
