New England Patriots Schedule Gets Grueling: 'A Lot Done in A Short Week,' Belichick Says

Fresh off a close 23-21 victory over the Buffalo Bills, the New England Patriots are gearing up to play the Jets on Thursday night. It's a demanding schedule, but head coach Bill Belichick seems confident.

In a recent interview with The Boston Herold, Belichick discussed what he thinks is in store against the New York Jets.

The coach discussed what the full schedule will mean a hectic week for not just players, but also the coaching staff.

"Got to be ready to go a lot done in a short week working with a team that we have some familiarity although there's quite few new faces down there," Bill Belichick said.

He is basing some of that familiarity on what he has seen from the Bills. Belichick believes the Jets defense will be similar to what he saw from the Bills.

"I think the thing about that defense is they game plan up a lot," Belichick said. "Like we saw some things yesterday from Buffalo that were probably specific to us that they had shown in their preseason. And some of the things we saw the Jets do yesterday against Tampa we won't see and we'll see some things Tampa didn't see. There is certainly some familiarity and carryover between the two schemes, but at the same time both those schemes are predicated on game-planning, matchups and kind of create schemes and matchups that are favorable. That's going to change week-to-week no matter who they play," the coach said.

The Jets won their most recent game by the very narrow margin of just one point. They beat the Tampa Bay Bucineers 18 to 17 on Sunday afternoon.
