It's official. Lenovo will release a Yoga Book 2-in-1 PC next year. Moreover, a version of this new laptop will run on Google Chrome OS, and its release is confirmed by Jeff Meredith, vice president of Lenovo.

Create Pad

The feature that really stands out with the Lenovo Yoga Book is its keyboard. Basically, the keyboard is a huge touchpad; it's just a flat surface that doesn't have any physical keys. With this feature, the Yoga Book feels like a tablet.

In fact, you can fold the notebook so that it becomes a tablet with a flat back. Also, if you fold it about three quarters along the way, the bottom half turns into a stand for the capacitive touch screen.

Lenovo calls the flat surface the "Create Pad." By tapping a button located at the upper right of the keyboard, the keyboard outlines disappear and you are left with a canvas where you can draw with a stylus.

Specs

The Lenovo Yoga Book will use an Intel Atom x5-Z8550 Processor. It will run on Android 6.0.1 OS and will have up to 4 GB of RAM. It will have 64 GB of ROM and have a card slot for microSDs up to 128 GB in maximum capacity.

With the Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the doodles you create using the Create Pad are instantly stored on the background through a note taking app. You can see this as a tiny window that appears on the lower right of the screen as you doodle.

This stylus is called a "Real Pen" by Lenovo, and you can actually turn it into a real pen by pulling out the nib and replacing it with a cartridge for real ink.

Battery

Lenovo Yoga Book's battery is a Li-ion polymer with an 8500 mAh capacity. This translates to 15 hours of general usage and more than 70 days of standby time. The device starts with a weight of 1.52 lbs and is 10.1 inches by 0.38 inch by 6.72 inches in size.

Display

The Lenovo Yoga Book 2-in-1 PC has a 10.1 inch diagonal screen with IPS LED Touch. It has a color depth of 16.7 million and a 70 percent color gamut. Its brightness is 400 nits.

The screen is a capacitive touch screen which utilizes AnyPen Technology, which according to Jeffrey Witt, Lenovo's Product Review Group Director, "allows the tablet to detect small graphite or metal points as well as palm rejection on the LCD panel."

The Lenovo Yoga Book has a unique Create Pad which also has capacitive touch and EMP Pen Technology.
