Spider Man Film Trailer Posted onto Internet

The movie trailer for the latest Spider Man film leaked from Sony Studios on Tuesday, days before it was supposed to make its debut at the world’s largest comic book convention.

After three years without a web-shooting super-hero on the big screen, fans can look forward to ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ in July of 2012.

The new movie in a re-booted franchise will feature a fresh all-star cast and storyline. Instead of living with his great aunt, the film will tell the story of a younger Peter Parker adapting to life after being abandoned by his parents.

In the latest adaptation Peter Parker will be portrayed by Andrew Garfield, the breakout co-star in the 2010 film Social Network. Parker’s faithful Aunt May and Uncle Ben will be played by Sally Field and Martin Sheen.

Instead of a love interest named Mary Jane, Parker will pursue Gwen Stacy played by Emma Stone in the latest film. The Lizard will take over as the movie’s villain and will be played by Rhys Ifans.

After comic book writers and illustrators caught wind of the leaked movie trailer, many took to their Twitter accounts to share their thoughts.

Kevin Maguire, artist for the “Justice League” and “Defenders” comics, seemed impressed by the preview.

“New Spider-Man trailer looks AWESOME,” Maguire tweeted. “I'm sold!”

With a darker looking tone, the newest installment in the series stands out from others. Kevin Colden, writer and artist for “I Rule the Night” and “Fishtown” commented on the difference.

“The Amazing Spiderman looks like a markedly different film from the previous three,” Colden tweeted. “Also, very much a total reboot. I'm intrigued.”

Although the trailer was pulled from the Internet quickly after it leaked, Entertainment Weekly is featuring still images from the film.

The official trailer will be released on Friday.
