Nexus 7 2 Now Available in Australia for $279

The Nexus 7 2 model is now available in Australia for $279.

The tablet launched in the U.S. about a month ago and was not released in any other countries. Now customers in Australia can pick up both versions of the tablet through online retailer Kogan.

The 16GB costs $279 and the 32GB version retails for $329. Both can be purchased with a limit of two per customer. This is a mark-up of $50 in comparison to the prices in the U.S. Kogan says the devices will ship in 1-2 weeks and comes with a 12 month warranty.

The Nexus 7 features a 7.62mm thick frame, a 7-inch LCD IPS display with 1920 x 1200 resolution at 323ppi, a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, Adreno 320 graphics, 2GB RAM, a 5-megapixel rear camera, 1.2-megapixel front shooter, dual stereo speakers, Bluetooth 4.0, and 4G LTE connectivity.

The tablet will also debut Google's latest OS Android 4.3, JellyBean which was also unveiled during the event. The display on the Nexus 7 is 1080p which makes it the first Full HD 7-inch slate. The device's virtual sound technology is also expected to be quite impressive, as it gives you a 5.1 surround sound experience by using headphones or build-in speakers.

The new Nexus 7 launched on July 30 in the Google Play store and at several retailers. Google offers both a 16GB and 32GB version. The 16GB model costs $229 while the 32GB version retails for $269.

The 4G LTE model is available on AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon. This version features 32GB of internal memory and retails for $349 with a new contract.

The Nexus 7 is available in the U.S. in other countries such as the U.K, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Spain, Canada, France and Australia.
