Nexus Tablet Image Surfaces Displaying Device Similar to iPad

An image, said to the Google's upcoming Nexus tablet, has recently surfaced showing a device closely resembling the iPad.

According to PocketNow, the rendering is in fact the Nexus Tablet since it features standard buttons and Ice Cream Sandwich specific apps on the display. However, there is no official confirmation on whether the picture represents the device or not.

Other features visible on the device include an ASUS-style tablet port, MicroUSB port, USB port, SIM card slot, and full sized SD card slot. An Android Market icon can also be seen in the image.

By viewing it, 9to5Google noted that the device bears a striking resemblance to the iPad. The site even stated that this picture could have been created easily with Photoshop.

"Reports fail to mention, however, that the slate in question looks uncannily similar to a first generation iPad," wrote the site.

"With that said, the image leak could easily be fabricated with a few spare Android tablet shots and a copy of Photoshop," added 9to5Google.

PocketNow also did not attribute a source for the image.

According to the latest rumors, ASUS is building the new Google branded tablets for the company known for its Android software.

These devices are also rumored to include quad-core processors. This would make them some of the fastest tablets on the market.

A supply chain source also leaked more news that stated Google was working to create a 7-inch device in order to compete with the low-end tablet market. Either way, when they are released the Nexus line will most likely include Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich.

The Nexus Tablet should launch sometime before the end of this year.
