2. Bernie Sanders: ‘Dangerous and mentally unbalanced’
Independent U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders, who caucuses with the Democrats, pounced on Trump’s comments Sunday and questioned his fitness to lead as the U.S. continues its military operation in Iran.
Sanders wrote: “One month after starting the war in Iran, this is the statement of the President of the United States on Easter Sunday. These are the ravings of a dangerous and mentally unbalanced individual.”
He also urged Congress to “act NOW” and “end this war.”
The Vermont senator has been one of the most outspoken critics of the war launched by the U.S. and Israel on Iran, calling it a “clear violation of international law [which] will create increased instability in an already dangerous world.”
